How To Transfer Ashes Into An Urn
When transferring ashes/cremains in to an urn that you purchased, you could ask the funeral home who did the cremation, to help you transfer the ashes to your cremation urn.
If that is not possible it is a simple task to do. You should have received the cremated remains in either a plastic urn or in a cardboard container. Open whatever container that they are in. Once the package is open you should find the cremated remains inside of a plastic bag.
If they are in a plastic bag the transfer will we fairly simple. Make sure the other container is open to accept the ashes. Now you should be able to wiggle the bag into the cremation urn that you previously purchased.
If by some chance the remains of your loved one are not in a plastic bag, within the container, that you received from the funeral home you will have some work to do. But you can still do it.
You may need to have some kitchen utensils available, to help you transfer the ashes into the urn that will be there permanent place of rest. If you do not feel comfortable with this task, make sure that you have a close friend or relative there to support you.
It should only take a few minutes to transfer the ashes into the cremation urn that you selected. If you are faced with doing this task alone maybe a prayer would be helpful.
