Sealing Caskets In Mausoleums
When placing caskets within a mausoleum it is best not to seal or lock down a metal casket. Locking down a casket made of metal which has a gasket in the design of, there isn’t any way for the casket to breathe.
If you are going to purchase a metal casket it would be best to purchase a non-gasketed casket, since the mausoleum is clean, dry and protective, compared to an earth burial.
After a gasketed metal casket has been in a mausoleum for a while, there is evidence to support the possibility of a casket exploding inside a mausoleum crypt.
Selecting a wood casket might be a better alternative because wood can breathe naturally.
