Can you have a cemetery on your own property?

Lots of families wonder why they can’t have a cemetery on their own property do you?

Well let’s look at this from previous generations. When we were pioneers traveling west to open new lands, we would bury our dead in a shallow grave.

As the years went on we formed little communities, where we set aside land for a small cemetery on the edge of town. Time progressed and we formed larger communities, where we built church graveyards.

As time continued to go on, we formed large public cemeteries, for future generations where we would lay our loved ones to rest. Then public policy was set, we said that we did not want little private cemeteries on our land when our land was sold.

Today we have huge public cemeteries. We have set aside land enough for our families to be all in one place, for future generatins if we choose to.
